When she was seventeen, a substitute teacher saved Alex from a vampire and taught her to hunt. He told her he had been sent by Claudius, the head of a Noble vampire line to protect her, as she was half vampire and a descendant to a line long considered lost. Steven Prewitt unlocked the vampyric powers of the dhampir and helped her master the art of hunting the rogue vampires who defied the laws of the assembly.

Now, her task is to uncover the lost lines, restart them, and discover which she is descended from.
